Yes, Terrell Owens is poised to start more trouble. The Dallas Cowboys wide receiver, who dropped some passes in Monday's game against the Eagles, is once again complaining about not getting enough "touches." And surprisingly, he is being joined by fellow wideout Terry Glenn, who is beefing about Dallas' play-calling. Is this too much for coach Bill Parcells to deal with? On this edition of Superior SportsTalk, host Charles Jay will discuss it. Also on tap - the only college bowl game in the country tonight takes place between Middle Tennessee State and Central Michigan in the Motor City Bowl. Think there are too many bowl games? Sat, 23 December 2006 SUPERIOR SPORTS TALK: Just score, baby (12/23) Amidst reports that their coach, Art Shell is on his way out, the Oakland Raiders take the field at home tonight facing a Kansas City Chiefs team that is in the proverbial "must win" situation, having to finish 9-7 and look for help to get to the post-season. Oakland hasn't scored over 14 points in the last seven games, so they're going to have play some serious defense to hold off Larry Johnson & Co. Also, Utah, led by hot QB Brett Ratliff, tackles Tulsa in the Armed Forces Bowl. On this edition of Superior SportsTalk, host Charles Jay takes a close look at both of these matchups, and gives the pointspreads, totals and money lines as they appear at SuperiorBook.com. Lines are provided by SuperiorBook.com, the easiest sports bet on the 'net.

Mon, 18 December 2006 SUPERIOR SPORTS TALK: Bengals look to run at, through, around Colts in Monday showdown The Indianapolis Colts surrendered 375 yards rushing to the Jacksonville Jaguars last week in what was a pathetic defensive performance, to say the least. Can they get that ship going in the right direction against the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday Night Football? On this edition of Superior SportsTalk, host Charles Jay looks at that Monday matchup and gives his opinion on who will come away with the cover. Sun, 17 December 2006 SUPERIOR SPORTS TALK: Sunday Rundown - Pro Football (12/17) As we separate the contenders from the pretenders in the NFL, we have several teams who are trying desperately to prove they're playoff-worthy. One of them is the Tennessee Titans, who seek revenge for a previous 37-7 defeat to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Another, the Philadelphia Eagles, look for some revenge of their own against the New York Football Giants. Carolina's Panthers are hanging on to dear life with second-team quarterback Chris Weinke as they try to hold off the Pittsburgh Steelers, who are still not mathematically eliminated in the AFC playoff chase. On this edition of Superior SportsTalk, host Charles Jay gives out the pointspreads, totals and money lines for these games and more, as well as serving up his own "Jay's Plays" that he will be using today in battling SuperiorBook.com in the $1 Million Sports Betting Challenge. Lots of talk around the Windy City about the recent plundering of quarterback Rex Grossman, but Lovie Smith still has faith in him. Meanwhile, Marc Bulger has been ripping his teammates for lack of effort. Will there be an inspired effort from the Rams tonight? How about an error-free game from Grossman? What's it all mean? Mon, 4 December 2006 SUPERIOR SPORTS TALK: Are the Eagles' wings clipped? Everybody has written off the Philadelphia Eagles since the loss of starting quarterback Donovan McNabb. Is that premature, and can Jeff Garcia lead them back into the NFC playoff race? Carolina's Panthers, who are fighting for their own playoff position, want something to say about that, but John Fox's team has suffered from a tremendous lack of consistency on offense. The boo birds will be out in Philly tonight if the Green and White lays an egg like they did against the Colts last week. On this edition of Superior SportsTalk, host Charles Jay examines the Monday night matchup, supplying his play for the evening and giving out the pointspread information as it appears at SuperiorBook.com. Mon, 27 November 2006 JAY'S PLAYS: Plenty of storylines in Packers-Seahawks game The Monday night football game between Green Bay and Seattle does not lack for subplots. For one thing, Brett Favre had to leave last week's game with New England as he injured his elbow. His backup, Aaron Rodgers, then got hurt and is out for the year. So the Pack is in trouble if Favre goes down again. Meanwhile, Matt Hasselbeck is back at quarterback for the Seahawks, joining newly returned Shawn Alexander in the lineup. Mike Holmgren is playing host to the Packers for the first time during his tenure in Seattle. Will the Seahawks score the blowout, as the oddsmakers expect? Charles Jay of Total Action Radio analyzes the matchup. Lines are provided by SuperiorBook.com - the easiest bet on the net!! Comments[0] |

Sun, 5 November 2006 JAY'S PLAYS: Pats look to run over Colts The New England Patriots have a rejuvenated running game. Can they take advantage of an Indianapolis Colts defense that has yielded 5.4 yards a carry this season? The Colts' situation is indeed strange, as they were 6-0 and an underdog going into last week's game against Denver, and now are 7-0 and once again an underdog. Can Peyton Manning gain a certain measure of respect for his team? Charles Jay of Total Action Radio handicaps the game. Lines are provided by SuperiorBook.com - the easiest bet on the net! Mon, 30 October 2006 JAY'S PLAYS: Can Vikes go to the next level? The Minnesota Vikings, coming off a big win last weekend in Seattle, will try to keep pace in the NFC North against the New England Patriots, who are taking to the ground these days in another attempt to get back to the Super Bowl. Tom Brady's had to work with a new cast of receivers, and has done so with a certain degree of success. But it's been defense and the running game that has spelled success thus far for the Pats. Same can be said for the Vikes under new coach Brad Childress. What will happen? Host Charles Jay of Total Action Radio tries to forecast it. What will happen when the irrestible force (Peyton Manning and the Colts) meets the immovable object (the Denver Broncos' defense)? Can Tony Romo breathe new life into the Dallas Cowboys? Is David Garrard a short-term answer for the Jaguars? Do the Arizona Cardinals have any heart left? Will "new blood" in the offensive schemes do the Ravens or Browns any good? On this edition of Superior SportsTalk, host Charles Jay tries to answer some of these questions. He runs down all the NFL pointspreads, totals and money lines as they appear on SuperiorBook.com. He also gives his insight as to what "Jay's Plays" he's going to use in his $1 Million Sports Betting Challenge against SuperiorBook. SUPERIOR SPORTS TALK: Saturday rundown -- College Football (10/28) Ohio State and Michigan have relatively easy games as they proceed on the road toward a showdown for the Big Ten title and a BCS title berth, but there are a lot of matchups in college football today that bring quite a bit of intrigue. One of them is in Atlanta, where Georgia Tech, stomped last week by Clemson, plays host to Miami, which can actually take the lead in the ACC Coastal Division with a win. Also, Notre Dame looks for its 43rd consecutive win over Navy. Those games, and every other contest on the college football board, will be discussed by host Charles Jay on this edition of Superior SportsTalk, brought to you by SuperiorBook.com, where they're serious about sports!! Once again, there are plenty of interesting storylines in the works as the NFL struts into another weekend. The Dallas Cowboys head into their intra-state game against the Houston Texans in the throes of the latest Terrell Owens soap opera, which is all starting to get Bill Parcells visibly annoyed. Ben Roethlisberger gets another chance to prove that he can be productive as the Pittsburgh Steelers, on a three-game losing streak, play host to the Kansas City Chiefs, who start Damon Huard again at quarterback. Joey Harrington once again leads the Miami Dolphins into battle against the New York Jets, who are smarting from their 41-0 loss to Jacksonville last week. And the Carolina Panthers, minus defensive leader Dan Morgan, try to match up against the Baltimore Ravens, who aren't getting all the production they wanted out of Steve McNair. Plus, two college games are on tap for Sunday, pitting Boise State against New Mexico State and Miami of Ohio against Buffalo. On this edition of Superior SportsTalk, host Charles Jay runs down the pointspreads, totals and money lines for all these games, discusses key injuries, and offers his own unique insight by giving you his "Jay's Plays" he has used in the $1 Million Sports Betting Challenge with SuperiorBook. SUPERIOR SPORTSTALK: Sunday rundown - Pro Football (10/8) There's plenty of great action on Sunday's NFL sked, including the matchup between Pittsburgh and San Diego under the lights, as the Steelers try to bounce back from two straight defeats, and Ben Roethlisberger attempts to get untracked after a rough start that has seen him complete just 49% of his passes thus far. And who can ignore the return of Terrell Owens to Philadelphia, where the Eagles counter with the NFL's highest-rated offense under Donovan McNabb? On this edition of Superior SportsTalk, host Charles Jay runs down the pointspreads, totals and money lines at SuperiorBook.com, and also offers "Jay's Plays" on today's NFL contests, as he is using them in his $1 Million World Sports Betting Challenge against the book. SUPERIOR SPORTSTALK: Sunday rundown - NFL lines, and "Jay's Plays" to boot At this point in the football season, it's time to start separating the men from the boys. And as usual, there are a lot of questions to be answered by this week's NFL slate. For example, since the Carolina Panthers desperately want to avoid falling three games behind in the NFC South, will they be the catalyst for the New Orleans Saints' weaknesses to finally be exposed? Can the New York Jets continue to be competitive as the explosive Colts roll into town? Can the New England Patriots avoid losing two games in a row for the first time since 2002? Will the Seahawks be able to produce points without Shaun Alexander? Can the Chiefs do so without Damon Huard? Will Alex Smith, Phillip Rivers and/or Marc Bulger throw their first interception of the season? And in a Dallas-Tennessee game that is suddenly replete with dramatic storylines, will Terrell Owens, fresh off his "accident," rebound to contribute to the Cowboys offense? And what will Vince Young be able to produce in his first NFL start? On this edition of Superior SportsTalk, host Charles Jay runs down the NFL lines and examines these situations, offering up his own "Jay's Plays" along the way. Brought to you by SuperiorBook.com

Tue, 26 September 2006 JAY'S PLAYS: Southern Miss looks to build ground game The Southern Miss Golden Eagles may have found a go-to running back in freshman Damion Fletcher, who ran for 177 yards against N.C. State last week. In Tuesday night's game, he'll line up against a Central Florida defense that returned nine starters from a year ago. The Knights have a veteran QB in Steven Moffett and a running attack that has yet to find itself, but may break through with Kevin Smith back from a one-game suspension. Charles Jay of Total Action Radio examines this ESPN2-televised matchup. Lines are provided by SuperiorBook.com Comments[0] |
Mon, 25 September 2006 SUPERIOR SPORTSTALK: The Saints march in again, but will they march to the winner's circle? There will be lots of fanfare when the Louisiana Superdome opens for business again on Monday night. And there will be lots of sentiment for the New Orleans Saints, who have come out of the gate with two straight wins. Can the Atlanta Falcons overcome all that favoritism, from both the fans and the media? Surely they have plenty of ammunition at their disposal, with a vaunted running attack and their elusive quarterback, Michael Vick. Will that be enough? Charles Jay takes a look at the matchup on this edition of Superior SportsTalk. Brought to you by SuperiorBook.com

Sat, 23 September 2006 JAY'S PLAYS: BC, Nebraska looking to preserve national rankings Boston College has been through hell and back, and has come out of it unbeaten. The Eagles are coming off two straight double-overtime games, beating Clemson and BYU and rolling into Raleigh with one of the top passing offenses in the country. N.C. State coach Chuck Amato finds himself on the hot seat, and turns to a new QB, local kid Daniel Evans, to help get the anemic offense moving. Nebraska went to the west coast last week, but didn't bring the West Coast offense with it, or so it seems, as the Huskers were shut down by USC. This week they face pesky Troy, which almost upset Florida State and Georgia Tech in consecutive weeks. Charles Jay of Total Action Radio looks at both those games, along with two more, in today's update.

The Pittsburgh Steelers stride into Jacksonville tonight as a favorite against the Jaguars, and have played it close to the vest as far as whether Ben Roethlisberger is going to start at quarterback. Whether he does or not, the Jaguars are going to have a challenge handling the Pittsburgh ground game. They're in better shape to do that now with Marcus Stroud returning to the lineup, although Reggie Hayward, their top sackmeister, is out. Can Byron Leftwich and the Jags rise to the occasion at home? Charles Jay of Total Action Radio tries to figure the whole thing out. Lines are provided by SuperiorBook.com

Sun, 17 September 2006 JAY'S PLAYS: Seattle tries to mount an attack against Arizona What in the world happened to the offense of the Seattle Seahawks? Able to only muster field goals against Detroit last week, Matt Hasselbeck (25 for 30 last week) and Company will try to get into the end zone against Arizona, which has a high-powered offense but let Alex Smith pass for 288 yards in their win last Sunday. Mon, 11 September 2006 JAY'S PLAYS: Raiders on the rebound, and Vikes starting anew A rarity tonight, in that there will be two Monday night games in the NFL. In the first, the Washington Redskins, with Clinton Portis in a limited role if any, take on the Minnesota Vikings, who made a playoff run despite a lot of off-field turmoil, then fired coach Mike Tice in favor of Brad Childress. Minnesota has a beefy offensive line to go against Washington's defense. And speaking of defense, will the Oakland Raiders show any this year? If it's up to new coach Art Shell, they will, and if Randy Moss doesn't provide a T.O.-like story for Al Davis. They line up against the San Diego Chargers, who break in new QB Philip Rivers tonight. What will happen? Charles Jay of Total Action Radio takes a shot at prognosticating it all. Lines provided by SuperiorBook.com

Sun, 10 September 2006 JAY'S PLAYS: T.O. era begins in Dallas; is it beginning of end of Favre era? (4 PM games) Terrell Owens makes his Cowboys debut today against Jacksonville, which will be without All-Pro defensive lineman Marcus Stroud. Brett Favre seeks success against the vaunted Chicago Bears defense, and will the Cardinals be inspired by a new stadium and a new star (Edgerrin James) in the backfield? Charles Jay of Total Action Radio tries to anser that question and more as he handicaps the late games. Lines provided by SuperiorBook.com

Sun, 10 September 2006 JAY'S PLAYS: Old & new QB's start over for Jets, Titans, Saints, even Bills (1 PM Games) New England's defense intercepted Buffalo's J.P. Losman three times last season in a 35-7 win. Losman is once again the Bills' starter, while Tom Brady works with an offense that is thinner at wide receiver but deeper at running back with the addition of Lawrence Maroney. Kerry Collins is the new starter at QB - for now - in Tennessee, while Vince Young learns the ropes. Chad Pennington is back from injury with the Jets, as is Drew Brees with the New Orleans Saints. How will they all do, and what impact will it have on the outcome of NFL openers? Charles Jay of Total Action Radio handicaps the early-starting NFL matchups. Lines are provided by SuperiorBook.com

And it's only September 10. The top-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes visit Austin to play the defending champion Texas Longhorns. Last year's Texas hero - Vince Young - has been replaced by redshirt freshman Colt McCoy at the quarterback position. But Ohio State has to replace nine starters on defense. OSU quarterback Troy Smith, who can run and pass with equal abandon, is vying to become this year's version of Young. Can Texas stop him and his speedy wideout, Ted Ginn? Charles Jay of Total Action Radio takes a look at this evening matchup, along with a lower-profile game in the state of Texas - SMU vs.North Texas. Brought to you by SuperiorBook.com and Casino of the Stars. Comments[0] |
Sat, 9 September 2006 JAY'S PLAYS: Irish eyes - will they be smiling? Notre Dame had a disappointing debut on offense, as the Irish could muster just 14 points against Georgia Tech. Coach Charlie Weis looks for a more consistent performance this week, while Penn State coach Joe Paterno hopes for continued development of his talented junior QB, Anthony Morelli. The Nittany Lions have a lot of speed and the best set of linebackers in college football. Is that enough to come away with a win, or a cover, in South Bend? Charles Jay of Total Action Radio looks at this game, and throws in his four-star college play of the week.
